John William Brown was born July 9, 1877, at Danville, Ill., add passed away February 19, 1935, aged 57 years, 7 months and 10 days. He moved to Custer county, Nebraska, with his parents in the spring of 1880 where he resided until 1898, when he came to Garden county.

On May 31, 1899, he was united in marriage to Lillian E. Johnson of Lewellen, Nebr. To this union was born seven children, Lyle W., Garland, Gladys, all living at home, Mrs. Iris Orr of Oshkosh, Mrs. Hazel Orr and Mrs. Wilma Williams of Lewellen, and a son Walter, who preceded his father into the Great Beyond.

He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Lidia Jewelle of Brule, Nebr., Mrs. Mary Abercrombie of Weiser, Idaho, and Mrs. Lizzie Hants of Fayette, Idaho; two brothers, Frank Brown of Northport, Nebr., and Dave Brown of Weiser, Idaho; two grandchildren, Shirley and Clifford Orr. Also a host of friends.
