Delmas Adams, 96, died November 8, 2004, at his residence in Evans County after a short illness.

He was under the care of Pearls of Life Hospice and was given special care by Bernease Jordan, Michelle Vermillion, and Pam Bacon.

The Evans County native and lifelong resident owned and operated Adams Floor Covering for over 40 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elma Adams, and a daughter, Sandra Nevil.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Farris Cowart of Scabrook Island, South Carolina; one brother, Joe Adams of Statesboro; four grandchildren and spouses: Leigh and Gary Bell of Bellville, Joe Nevil of Statesboro, Sonya and Ricky Bland of Glennville, and April and Anthony Tippins of Conyers; four great-grandchildren: Jarrod Strickland of Claxton, Colton Bland of Glennville, and Brett and Logan Tippins of Conyers; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 10, beginning at 6 p.m. at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 11, at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Brewton Cemetery in Hagan, Georgia.

Remembrances can be made to Pearls of Life Hospice, 13 South Newton Street, Claxton, Georgia 30427.
