James V. "Jim" Aaby, 74, was born in Woodville, WI and came to Wichita, Kansas at an early age. He is survived by wife of 56 years Dorothy Aaby, 3 children Gina (Mark) Loibl, Theron (Tanya) Aaby and Tabby Aaby, 6 grandchildren Amber and Amanda Underwood, Lindy and Landon Loibl, Alyssa and Ashlyn Aaby, step grandchildren Brittany Fincham and Brendan Hutson. He was born on February 6, 1934 and died on Wednesday, December 3, 2008. Jim suffered a long battle of emphysema and will be dearly missed. Central Steel was founded in 1945 by Robert Aaby. Jim began working in his dad's steel company along side his brother Richard. Jim dearly loved his work and although his illness slowed him down this past year, he still continued to work up until late June 2008. He had many friends through his years and to all that knew him, he was a class act. Viewing was Sunday, December 7, 2008 12:00 to 8:00 pm and funeral service was held 10:00 am Monday, December 8 both at Resthaven Mortuary. In lieu of flowers donations were made to The Lord's Diner.
