Mr. Stringfield was born April 12, 1928 in Williston, SC, a son of Elizabeth Powell Stringfield and Henderson Stringfield. He was a Retired Truck Driver for Santee Carriers, a Air Force Veteran and a Baptist.

Surviving are his wife, Lorene "Mama-Bear" Mitchell Stringfield of St. George, SC; son, Thomas E. "David" Stringfield, Jr. of St. George, SC; daughter, Pat S. Thompson of Lake City, FL; two step-sons, Jerry and Glenn Shaw, both of Ridgeville, SC; three sisters, Evie S. Hutto of Lanley, SC, Alberta Abbott of Blackville, SC, and Lula Rutland of Lamar, SC; five grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren.
