THE LAST SAD RITES.
Funeral of Mrs. Beatrice Abbott Occurred Yesterday.
From Monday's Daily.
The funeral of Mrs. Beatrice Abbott, wife of Joe Abbott, was held at the family residence, No. 520 South Rock Island avenue yesterday afternoon. Services were conducted by Rev. Walker of the M.E. Church South, after which the remains were laid to rest in the El Reno cemetery.
In the death of Mrs. Abbott, the community loses a loyal true hearted woman, and the loss to her family is more than words can express.
The immediate cause of her death is not positively known. She had been ailing for a number of months and about one year ago went east to visit a sister in Washington and also to obtain relief if possible. She consulted some of the best medical authorities both in Baltimore and Washington, and finally entered one of the best hospitals in Washington where she endured a severe surgical operation, and took treatment for many weeks. She returned home in September and while she did not claim to have attained her former health, was apparently far on the road to recovery, unfortunately, however, she was taken worse in a few days and was not able from that time to leave her bed.
