HARRISONBURG, La. -- Services for Charles Sterling "Scooter" Aarons, 19, of Harrisonburg, who died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, in Lampasas, Texas, will be at 10 a.m. today at Harrisonburg First Baptist Church with the Revs. Dale Patten and Bubba Tucker officiating.

Burial will be in Rosefield Cemetery in Rosefield, La., under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville.

Mr. Aarons was born Oct. 12, 1982, in Ferriday, the son of Bo and Ruth Aarons.

He was a horse handler and cowboy for BCR Ranch and was a member of Fellowship Church of Jonesville.

Mr. Aarons was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Steean J. "J.C." Aarons, and his maternal grandfather, Charles B. "Chic" Stutson.

Survivors include his mother, Charlotte Ruth Aarons of Harrisonburg; his father, Bo Aarons of Harrisonburg; three sisters, Rayelyn Parker of New Iberia, La., Pamela Patten of Harrisonburg and Ann Reeves of Bartlet, Texas; paternal grandmother, Faye Aarons of Harrisonburg; and maternal grandmother, Beatrice Tarver Stutson of Harrisonburg.

Pallbearers will be Boone Bruton, Derek Bruton, P.R. Cline, Steve Myers, Shane Townsend and Gerald Tullos.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Ainsworth, Steve Davis, Kenneth Hawthorne, Charles Jackson, Sam Mason, Jared Stewart and John Tiser III.
