Sue Saavedra Abad, 93 Lakeland- Mrs. Sue Saavedra Abad went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2009 due to heart failure. She was born on June 6, 1915 in Tampa, Florida. She retired to Lakeland in 1973 from New York City. She was a member of the Garden Club, All Thumbs Craft Club and Resurrection Catholic Church of Lakeland. She was a homemaker and enjoyed dancing, sewing and was also an avid Rays fan. She most enjoyed being surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Abad was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Manuel Abad and her daughter Carolyn Abad Pastore. She is survived by her children, Rosemary Abad of Roswell, Georgia, Manny and his wife Pat Abad of Lakeland, 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends tonight Friday, January 30, 2009 at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel, 2125 S. Bartow Hwy, Lakeland, FL. from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
