∼Sarah was the daughter of John Anderson, Jr. and Rebecca Ann Black. Her mother died 8 Aug 1865 in Arena, Iowa Co., Wisconsin. Siblings: James Black Anderson, John Milton Anderson, Elizabeth Louisa Anderson (Mrs. Wm W. Coon), Letitia Ann Anderson (Mrs. Warren Acker), Sarah Frances Anderson (Mrs. Lewis Nichols), Alice Jefferson Anderson (Mrs. Elijah Parker), and Margaret R. Anderson.
Obit in The Correctionville News, 25 January 1912, page 1: After suffering a long time and securing no relief, Mrs. Sarah Nichols of Correctionville died Monday evening at the home of her sister, Mrs. W.W. Coon at Leeds. Sarah F. Anderson was born April 30, 1857, being over 54 years of age at her death. She came to Iowa forty-one years ago with her father and in 1883 was united in marriage to Lewis Nichols. She is survived by one son, LeRoy Nichols of this place, one brother, Milton Anderson of Sioux City and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Coon of Leeds, Mrs. Letitia Acker of Bliss, Nebraska, and Alice Sisk of Cherokee, Iowa. Mrs. Sarah Nichols has lived at her residence just east of the Warner home for many years. She was liked by the people of Correctionville and by all who knew her. The remains arrived yesterday morning from Sioux City when services followed at the Evangelical church, conducted by Rev. E.R. Mitchell, after which the remains were interred in the Correctionville Cemetery. J.A. Coon, Mrs. James Mayclin and Mrs. Sarah Smith of this place and Mrs. G.W. Custer of Moville are cousins of the deceased.
