The funeral service for Sallie L. Beckwith, 85, of Pelham, who died Feb. 8th, 1985 at the Mitchell County Hospital was held Sunday, February 10 at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Hugh Lee Brinkley officiating. Interment was held in the Macedonia Cemetery.
A native of Decatur County, she was born Nov. 1, 1899, the daughter of the late Charlie and Missouri Hester NeSmith. She was married to Jonah L. Beckwith who preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.
Survivors include three son, Hulon Beckwith, Irvin Beckwith and Charlie Edward Beckwith all of Pelham; three daughters, Mrs. Burl Oates of Thomasville, Mrs. Lorene Palmer of Columbus, Mrs. R. H. Jenkins of Phenix City, Alabama; one sister, Mrs. Nancy Beckwith of Monticello, Fla.
Pallbearers were Pete Faircloth, Macel Palmer, J. E. Palmer, Luke Spence, Tony Barfield, Tommy Adams, and Leon Adams. Braswell Funeral Home in charge.
