Philip J. Hess Jr., 76, Kokomo, died at 3:56 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis. Born Oct. 27, 1932, in Howard County, he was the son of Philip J. and Beatrice (Masterson) Hess Sr. On Nov. 22, 1956, he married Pauline E. (Rice) Hess, and she died Nov. 18, 2003.
He is survived by his daughter, Peggy (husband Tom) Willis, Indianapolis; a grandson, Justin Brewer, Louisville, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Fording.
