Louise Ortgessen, 102, of Petersburg died Saturday, April 16, 2005, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born Sept. 13, 1902, in Petersburg, the daughter of Herman and Anna Bonties Aachte. She married John Ortgessen in 1930 in Petersburg; he died in 1976.
Mrs. Ortgessen worked for the Red Cross during World War II and was a clerk at her father and brother's store, Aachts Grocery, in Petersburg. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Menard County Historical Society and Petersburg Women's Club.
Survivors: daughter, Greta Eastman of Henry; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Services: St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Petersburg, the Revs. Ed Maddox and Dan Roseberry officiating. Burial: Rose Hill Cemetery, Petersburg.
