Mrs. Ortgessen worked for the Red Cross during World War II and was a clerk at her father and brother's store, Aachts Grocery, in Petersburg. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Menard County Historical Society and Petersburg Women's Club.
Survivors: daughter, Greta Eastman of Henry; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Services: St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Petersburg, the Revs. Ed Maddox and Dan Roseberry officiating. Burial: Rose Hill Cemetery, Petersburg.
