WORTH E. SPENCER
EDENTON - Worth Eugene Spencer, 84, of the 400 block of North Broad St., died Feb. 27, 1999, at Chowan Hospital.
A native of Brunswick County, Ga., Mr. Spencer was the husband of Esther Mae Hollowell Spencer and a son of the late Thomas Abner and Irene Davidson Spencer. Mr. Spencer was a retired owner of Spencer Plastering and had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Edenton United Methodist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving, other than his wife, are his four daughters, Barbara S. Rinehart, Irene S. Stotesbury, Linda S. Adams, all of Edenton, and Cynthia S. Dandrea of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Grace Sawyer of Edenton; two brothers, Paul Spencer of Norfolk and Clyde Spencer of Yorktown, Va.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Beaver Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Rex Brooks and Dr. Paul Pridgen. The family will receive friends at the residence. Evans Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
