Bartlesville EE Newspaper May 19, 1987 & May 21, 1987 Funeral Services for Woodrow Robert "Woody" Cowan, 74, 145 N. Penn, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Sanctuary of First Assembly of God Church. Rev. Veldon Abbott and Charles Towne will officiate. The Arnold Moore Funeral service will direct prayers and interment in Memorial Park.

He died at 2;40 p.m. Thursday in Jane phillips Episcopal Memorial Medical Center where he had been a patient for two days after and apparent heart attack. He was born in Bartlesville May 10, 1913, to George L. and Ollie Roberts Cowan. He grew up and went to school in Bartlesville and got his first job at Webster Grocery Store.

He married Letha Vila Caudle on Sept. 23, 1937 in Claremore and they lived here since then. He worked with his father as a carpenter, and also worked for Billbe Construction Co. After his retired he continued as and independent building contractor and did small contruction.

A memorial has been established with the Bartlesville Playground Association.

Survivors include his widow of the home: a son Bobby Richard Cowan of Bartlesville, a daughter, Mrs. Thomas D. (Barbara Rebecca) Trosper of Sunnyvale, Texas: three grandsons,Scott Thomas, Jeffrey Randall, Layne Douglas Trosper: a brother, Glen Cowan and a sister,Mrs. Veldon (Nina) Abbott, both of Dewey He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. obit courtesy of [email protected]
