Walterboro, S. C., March 5-

G. W. Willis of Cottageville died Monday at his home following a ten days' illness.

Funeral services were held at the Cottageville Cemetery Thursday morning, his pastor, Rev. Robert Turner, officiating, assisted by Rev. S. J. Parker of Cottageville and Rev. B. L. Knight of Walterboro. Nephews of the deceased acted as pallbearers.

The deceased was 69 years of age and had spent his entire life in Cottageville, where he was born.

He had been in bad health for some time, but despite his feebleness bore his illness with fortitude and cheerfulness.

"Uncle Wash," as he was better known in the community, was a life member of the Methodist church and always took an active part in its interests.

He was the sole surviving member of a large family who were widely known throughout the county.

His wife died about seventeen years ago, leaving him with the following children who survive him:
Mrs. George Glover of Walterboro, M. Boyd, W. R., Miss Carrie Lee, all of Cottageville.
