Mrs. Alice Lydia Abel, 93, a Sheridan resident since 1908, died Monday evening at Memorial hospital.
Mrs. Abel was born Oct. 16, 1858 near Springfield, Ohio. The family lived in Michigan for several years, then moved to a farm near Plattsmouth, Neb., where she attended school. She taught rural school for one year. She was married to Theron E. Abel, March 2, 1878 in Plattsmouth and in 1900 moved with her husband to live in Oklahoma until coming to Sheridan in 1908. Her husband died here in 1910.
Survivors are two daughters, Miss Edith Abel of Sheridan and Mrs. Willis C. Barrett of Logan, Utah and two sons, Fay T. Abel of Lodge Grass and Glen H. Abel of Gillette. Five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at 2 from Champion's funeral home with the Rev. R. Jay Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Sheridan municipal cemetery.
