Born Sept. 2, 1895, in Boone County, Iowa, to James and Blanche Michael, she came to Wyoming as a girl and moved to Sheridan around 1914.
She married Fay Abel on May 6, 1917, in Sheridan, and worked at the New York Store.
They moved in 1920 to Lodge Grass, Mont., and returned to Sheridan around 1970. Mr. Abel died in 1979.
Mrs. Abel belonged to Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Beauceant, Women's Club, and Civic Club. She enjoyed flowers and her garden.
Survivors include a son, Claude Abel, Boise, Idaho; a sister, Rillie Taylor, Sheridan; three grandson; and four great-grandsons.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ferries Funeral Home, the Rev. Greg Jensen officiating, with burial in Sheridan Masonic Cemetery.
Memorial may benfit Shrine Crippled Children's Fund in care of Kalif Shrine, Box K, Sheridan.
