He was born in Nahunta and had lived in Charlton County a number of years before moving to Jacksonville 30 years ago. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Folkston and a U.S. Army veteran having served in Korea.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia B. Herrin of Jacksonville, FL; two daughters, Mary Crews of Jacksonville and Donna Turner of Callahan, FL; two sons, Thomas Herrin of Bell, FL and Donald Wayne Herrin of Jacksonville: his mother Virgie Cobb Herrin of Folkston; a sister, Margie H. Adcock of Folkston; two brothers, A. J. Herrin of Folkston and Charles Herrin of Jacksonville, FL; five granddaughters, and two grandsons.
Funeral services were held at 12 noon on Saturday, Dec. 14, from Calvary Baptist Church in Folkston with Rev. Bobby Sikes officiating.
Interment followed in Corinth Cemetery in Charlton County.
Shepard Funeral Home of Folkston was in charge of arrangements.
