Patricia C. Absmeier, 80, of Sterling, died Friday, March 21, 2003, in Sterling. Visitation will be 10 a,m. to 7p.m. on Monday, March 24, with vigil and rosary at 7 p.m. at Tennant Funeral Home. Services will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Rev. James Baird officiating. Burial will follow at Holyoke Memorial Park.
Mrs. Absmeier was born June 14, 1922, in Rochester, Mich., to Wayne and Louise (Halliday) Carpenter. She graduated from high school in Rochester, and went on to graduate from Michigan State University in 1944.
She married Carl Absmeier on Sept. 21, 1946, in Lansing, Mich.
She volunteered for the American Red Cross during World War II, and taught school. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Sterling Country Club, and the Altar and Rosary Society. She also helped put her husband through law school and build up his law practice.
Mrs. Absmeier moved to Holyoke in 1950. She then moved to Sterling in 1979. She and her husband retired in 1986.
Mrs. Absmeier loved her family, especially her grandchil then. She also enjoyed camping and traveling, going to Texas in the winter and the mountains in the summer.
She is survived by her children Pat and husband Warren Main, Aurora, Jeff and wife Debbie Absmeier, Holyoke, and Dave and wife Cindy Absmeier, Greeley; daughter-in-law Lisa Ahsmeier Herman; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Sons Steve and Carl; sister Mary; and brother Wayne Carpenter.
