ARTHUR E. ADAMS JR.
MARS HILL/PORTLAND, OREGON: Arthur E. Adams Jr. age 65, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 4:30 PM at the Oregon Health Science University Hospital in Portland Oregon. Arthur was born December 6, 1943, the oldest son of Arthur E. Sr. and Ora Grindstaff Adams. He graduated from Mars Hill High School in 1962 and joined the United States Air Force serving five years. He then worked with World Airlines 25 years as a Base Maintenance Supervisor, and 18 years with Alaskan Airlines as Maintenance Planner.
He is survived by his wife Sherri Adams of Portland, OR., a son Will Joseph Adams (Katie), and a daughter Cheryl Adams Juan of Hayward, CA., four grandchildren, Carlie and Sam Adams, Luchelle Eala, and Christopher Juan, a sister Kay McKinney of Greensboro, NC;, three nephews, Bryan and Russell Adams of Mars Hill and C. T. Robinson of Barnardsville; two great nieces, Holly and Mandy Robinson and a great nephew Thomas Robinson.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 11, 2009 at California Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Cline Hensley, Jr. and the Rev. Josh McDevitt officiating.
Internment will follow in the Shook Cemetery at the Upper Laurel Baptist Church with Military Honors conducted by the Mars Hill V.F. W. Post 5483.
