Helena "Bonnie" Abdon Meadows 88, of Indianapolis, passed away July 8, 2009. She was born June 6, 1921 in Greenup County, Kentucky to James Albert and Nancy McGinnis Abdon.
She was a member of the Welcome Rebekah Lodge #478.
Helena is survived by her husband of 62 years, Durward C. Meadows, who she married on on December 9, 1942. Others surviving are her sons, Phil (Jacque) Meadows and Jack (Vicki) Meadows; daughters, Jody Meadows and Donna Berry; five grandchildren, Stacy, Jeff, Derrick, Chris, and James; and nine great-grandchildren;l and sister-in-law, Edith "Aunt Boots" Stafford.
Preceding Helena in death is her son, Greg, in 1958; and granddaughter, Sherri, in 1966.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, July 11 in the Flanner and Buchanan Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Funeral Center with services there at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
