He passed away early on Friday morning at his home in Northland Township, where he had lived for 39 years. He was 85 years and 7 months old at the time of his death.
Mr. Aandrud was born May 19 in the year 1861 at Toten, Norway. He came to this country in 1875 at the age of 14 years. He spent some time in Iowa and later homesteaded in LaMoure County.
In 1895 he started farming in Northland Township in Ransom County, and he made his home there until his death.
He was united in marriage in 1904 to Miss Nettie Jacobson, who survives him. He is also survived by four sons, John of Oakland, Calif., Fritz and Oscar of Kathryn, and Earl of LItchville, and three daughters, Agnes, Mrs. Carl Eikeland of St. Paul, Mable, Mrs. Edwin Sanders of Garden City, Minn., and Helen, Mrs. Edwin Westphal of Enderlin. One son preceded him in death.
He was a pioneer in our community, and he braved all the hardships of those early years—and he saw the virgin prairie changed into the farming community as we have it today. We pay tribute to this pioneer!
Blessed be his memory.
