Funeral services for John Axel Aanderud were held Saturday, November 26, at 2 p.m. at the North LaMoure church with Pastor E. Kristensen in charge. Ray Bodin, accompanied by Mrs. Harvey Haugen, sang "Abide With Me" and "Dearest Jesus Draw Thou Near Me." A mixed sextette, Roy Sand, John C. Horsager, Betty Smedshammer, Mrs. Selmer Rockswold and Mrs. Alfred Haugen, accompanied by Mrs. Ben Osterberg sang "Nearer My God to Thee."
Interment was in the cemetery by the church. Pallbearers were: Andrew Brandvold, Melvin Brandvold, Theodore Rue, Adolph Kjelby, Oliver Mennis, Harold Arves.
Lunch was served in the church parlors at the close of the services.
John Axel Aandrud was born on September 15, 1900, in Norway and came to North Dakota at the age of four. He grew to manhood and received his education in the Kathryn vicinity. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
He died last Tuesday morning, November 22, at the age of 55 of a coronary thrombosis attack in a Seattle hospital, after residing in Seattle about seven years where he was employed at the Boeing Aircraft factory.
He had served in World War II and was a member of the American Legion. He also had been employed several years at Grand Forks, N. D., and at Oakland, California.
Mr. Aanderud had never married. Surviving him are three brothers: Fritz of LaMoure, N. D.; Oscar of Kathryn' and Earl of Litchville; and three sisters, Mrs. Carl (Agnes) Eikeland of St. Paul, Minnesota; Mrs. Elwin (Mabel) Sanders of Jordan, Minn.; and Mrs. Edwin (Helen) Westphal of Enderlin, N. D. His mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Aanderud and one brother, Olaf, preceded him in death.
