-- Mrs. Mattie Abbott, 64, a resident of Nichols for many years, died at Bellevue hospital, Muscatine, Friday morning, July 26 1929. Miss Mattie E. Victor was born Nov. 15, 1864. She was married to Ben Abbott, Dec. 12, 1880, and he died Feb. 11, 1905. One son, Ben. F. Abbott, died Dec. 22, 1928.
She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, of the Royal Neighbors and the Rebekah lodges. Surviving are a brother, Ferdinand Victor of Texas, and a nephew, Lemuel Victor of Alvin, Texas, besides other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church here by the Rev. E. S. Hehner. Burial will be in the Nichols cemetery, Nichols, Iowa.
