Mr. Abbott was a farmer.
Survivors include: his wife, Earnestine Lacey of Bragg City, Missouri; three daughters, Elaine Abbott of Caruthersville, Missouri, Tina Lile of Hoopeston, Illinois and Samantha Lacey of Bragg City, Missouri; two sons, Michael Abbott of Hoopeston, Illinois and Joseph Lacey of Bragg City, Missouri; two brothers, Odis Abbott of Doniphan, Missouri and Arthur Abbott of Campbell, Missouri; three sisters, Bobbie Sue Lyell, Betty Pelkey both of Caruthersville, Missouri and Ruth Kirkland of Harrison, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ottest Abbott and Harman Abbott and by one sister, Jessie McWilliams.
He had 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Services were held on September 12, 1996 at 2 p.m. at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Lee officiating. Interment was in the Maple Cemetery.
