Ernest Pate, 75, farmer of the Berea community, died Monday, January 22, in Giles County Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Pate were held at 1 p. m. Wednesday, January 24, in the chapel of Bennett-May Funeral Home with the Revs. Henry Cortner and Mack Pinkelton, officiating. Burial took place in Lynnwood Cemetery.
A native of Giles County, Mr. Pate was born January 16, 1893, the son of the late Nathan R. and Ella Evans Pate.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Avy Davidson Pate; two daughters, Mrs. J. C. Inman, Columbia, Mrs. Donald Lopp, Fairbanks, Alaska; one son, Lovell Evans Pate, Nashville; one sister, Mrs. L. M. Portress, Pulaski; one brother, Jesse Pate, Lynnville, and eight grandchildren.
