Funeral services will be Saturday, July 25, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Johnny Belcher and W.H. Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the County Line Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Abercrombie was born December 9, 1920 in Coffee County to the late Charlie and Julia F. Dawson Abercrombie. He lived on a farm in Geneva County for 81 years and was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church. He loved Braves baseball, Alabama football and gospel music. He was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Abercrombie of Chancellor; two sons, Clarence Abercrombie Jr. (Margaret) of Daleville and Roger E. Abercrombie (Julie) of Bossier City, La.; daughter, LaDeema Moore (Ronnie) of Chancellor; grandchildren, Mike Moore of Ozark, Marc Moore of Senoia, Ga., Allen Abercrombie and Daniel Abercrombie both of Daleville; great-grandchildren, Maghen Moore and Mason Moore both of Senoia, Gabi Curtis of Ozark; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Mary Rose Bess and Emma Conlington both of Chancellor and Mary Watson of Enterprise.
