Sally was born on Feb. 19, 1941, in Lincoln, Neb., a daughter of the late Orville and Katherine Thompson Bradley. Sally was a member of Oakland Baptist Church and enjoyed needlepoint, antiquing, and was an avid gardener. Her family remembers her as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She always found the good in everyone she knew.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Harry Carlisle Abington; and one grandson, Justin Michael Abington.
Survivors include one son, Michael C. Abington and his wife Debora of St. Louis, Mo.; three daughters, Brenda Jackson and her husband Mark of Destin, Fla., Shari Kenner and her husband Steven of Alabaster, Ala., and Kim Montgomery and her husband Dan of Destin; seven grandchildren, Brandon Whitley of Destin, Jacob Whitley of Destin, Morgan Whitley of Clermont, Fla., Chad Jackson of Destin, Alexander Kenner of Alabaster, Ryan Abington and Jeffery Abington, both of St. Louis; three great- grandchildren; three sisters, Sharon Vest and her husband Don of Phelps City, Mo., Kathy Markham and her husband William of Lincoln, Neb., and Kalli Bradley of Lincoln; and many friends.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, July 13, in the chapel of Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 113 Racetrack Road N.E., Fort Walton Beach (850-864-3361). The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. (one hour prior to the service).
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Gulf Medical Supplies who faithfully delivered her oxygen for so many years.
