Mrs. Claude Abels Buried At Yankee Springs Sunday
Funeral services for Mrs. Claude Abels, 66, of Calvin, who died at 9:30 a.m.
Friday at her residence in the Friendship community after a lengthy illness,
were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Yankee Springs Baptist Church with burial
in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, Clois Abels and J. C. Abels of
Winnfield; George Allen Abels of Coushatta; Lawrence Abels of New Orleans; and
A. D. Abels of Bossier City; two daughters, Mrs. Elvie Moore and Mrs. John H.
Newton, both of Calvin; four brothers, Joe Burnum of Jonesboro, Perry
Burnum of Goldonna, Perry Burnum of Goldonna, and Luther Burnum of Calvin;
two sisters, Mrs. Lee Bedgood of Jonesboro and Mrs. Mattie Blake of Calvin;
18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
