SABETHA - Services will be Monday at Popkess Mortuary for Mrs. Edith Hess Barton, 87, Lake Worth, Fla., who died Wednesday at a West Palm Beach hospital where she had been a short time. She was born March 28, 1889 in Wing, Ill. and moved to Sabetha in 1911.
She married Edwin B. Gargel on Dec. 31, 1913. He died July 27, 1957. She then married John C. Barton on May 1, 1969. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Edwin B. Gargel, Jr., Tucson, Ariz.; and 2 sisters, Hulda Bieri, Sabetha, amd Mrs. Emma Heiniger, Sabetha. Burial will be in Sabetha Cemetery.
