His parents moved to a farm near Paplin when he was about 9 years old. There he grew to manhood and on April 22, 1901 was married to Miss Lillie Michalski at Loup City. They farmed a few years at Loup City and then homesteaded near Bridgeport, Nebraska. The family moved to Kewanee, Illinois where Mr. Dembowski was employed. After several years, he returned to Nebraska, settling on a farm near Palmer and later moving near St. Paul. In 1944 he retired from agriculture and lived in St. Paul.
Mr. and Mrs. Dembowski celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
He was a member of the Catholic Church and of SS Peter and Paul parish.
Surviving him are his wife Lillie of St. Paul, four sons, Frank of Loup City, Anton of Farwell, Victor of Grand Island and Virgil of Denver, Colorado; one daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Lee of St. Paul and a niece whom Mr. and Mrs. Dembowski reared, Mrs. Esther Rumer; one brother, Frank of Denver, Colorado and five sisters, Mrs. Tom McCarville, Grand Island, Mrs. Frank Osantowski of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Tony Trompke of Kearney, Mrs. Andrew Pflester, Broken Bow and Mrs. John Riskowski of Loup City; 27 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son Joe, two daughters, Clara and Mrs. Nellie Lee, who died last December; two brothers, Roman and Kasmier and four sisters, Mrs. Rose Osantowski, Sister M. Kostka, Mrs. Martha Jablonski and Mary.
