George Allen Moore, son of Solomon and Sarah Jane Moore, was born in Ray Ill., January 5,1863, and departed life at the home of his son, Dwight, of Hersman, Ill.

He was married to Lurana Williamson, April 9, 1885. To this union eleven children were born, five girls and six boys, a boy and girl dying in infancy and Myrtle Moore at the age of two years, Russell Roy at nine. Four boys and three girls survive him: Dwight of Hersman, Ill., Chalmer of Camden, Ill., Parley of Isabel, South Dakota; Maude of Canton, Ill.; Mrs. Maniella Chamberlain of Canton, Mo., Fred of Rushville, Ill.; Mrs. Marie Prunty of Denver, Ill. Also the following brothers and sisters: Ross of Littleton, Ill.: Mrs. Ellen Miller of Rushville, David of Ray, James and Thomas of Rushville, Samuel of Rushville, Solomon of Littleton, Martha Shephard of Moline, Mrs. Lutetishia Abbott of Rushville, Mrs. Frances Sowers of Rushville. His wife preceded him in death June 14, 1904.

In 1906 he was married to Mrs. Alice Williamson. One son was born, dying in infancy.

He was stricken in November, 1923, with paralysis and gradually grew worse until he was completely helpless. He was a patient sufferer and wanted to be as little trouble as possible. He talked of being saved in his last days and said he was ready to go.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Rushville on Wednesday, October 1st, afternoon. Services were conducted by Rev. Willard Bell, assisted by Revs. Willard Bell officiating. Interment in the Rushville cemetery.
