Born Oct. 16, 1931, in New Salem, N.D., he served in the Navy and married Alice Federer in North Dakota. He lived in Auburn for 31 years.
Mr. Henke was a music teacher in North Dakota, Montana and Washington.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Henke of Auburn; son Mark Henke of Bellevue; daughters Debra Ely of Burien, Julie Henke of Seattle, Camie West of Enumclaw and Stacie Greer of Portland, Ore.; several brothers and sisters in North Dakota; and six grandchildren.
The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Price Helton Funeral Home in Auburn.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Dec. 23, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Auburn. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Tahoma National Cemetery in Maple Valley.
