William T. Abbey, 85, of Ellisville , died Thursday, June 3, 1993, at South Central Regional Medical
Center in Laurel , Mississippi .
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Jones Funeral Home of Ellisville with burial in the Anderson Minter Cemetery in Ellisville.
Revs. Ralph Graves and L.C. Stewart will
officiate.
He was a lifelong resident of the Pendorff Community in Jones County and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He was a medic in the U.S. Army , veteran of World War II and he was also a
retired carpenter and gardener . He grew many vegetables , some he sold and the rest he shared.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ben & Laura Mae ; two brothers, Floyd ( Montroy ) Abbey and Charles "Pete" (Vivian )Abbey; and two sisters, Bessie ( Obie ) Clark and Annie (Barney ) James.
He is survived by a son and daughter in law , Richard & Mary Abbey of Ellisville; two brothers, Clyde Abbey of Jackson and Preston (Hazel ) Flowers of Ellisville; four sisters, Bennie (Lester)Graham, Aline (Jack)Hall, Virgie "Sis" (James ) Lambert and Dona (Fred) Watson, all of Ellisville; three grandchildren, Candy (Anthony) Pitts , Pasha Abbey and Krisha ( Eric ) Yelverton; 5 great grandchildren , Isaiah , Richard , Michael & Mark Pitts , Casey Yelverton ; 1 great great grandchild , Mercee Rhae Pitts , and a
host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home of Ellisville, which is in charge of
arrangements.
