Gene Stoneman and his brother Dean, born June 12, 1930, were twins and were the eighth/ninth surviving children of Ernest and Hattie Stoneman born in Galax, Grayson County, Virginia. He married Peggy Edlin and, together, they had one daughter, Robin. Gene passed away August 15, 2005 in Edgewater, Maryland.
