Funeral services for Thomas K. Acott, 73, of Fleming were conducted Friday at the Fleming Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Haddock and the Rev. Dennis Sillaman officiating. Burial was in the Haxtun cemetery.

Acott died January 19 in a Brownsville, Texas hospital.

Born June 17, 1908 in Fleming, he was the son of John H. and Mary Kester Acott. He received his education in the Fleming schools.

He married Verna E. Wood on November 26, 1930 in Fleming. The couple lived in Fleming where they farmed and ranched until retiring except for a 13-year period when they lived at Dove Creek.

Acott was a member of the Fleming United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Verna E. Acott of Fleming; two daughters, Donna Beene of Cortez and Mrs. Darlene Gorbutt of Fleming.
