The Kansas Optimist
Jamestown, Kansas
Friday, March 15, 1901
page 4
Mrs. Coen came up from Missouri to be with her daughter, Mrs. Don Abbey, during the sickness and death of the latter's child.
Died. - March 8, 1901, the five-months- old girl babe of Don W. and Clara Abbey, from pneumonia. This is the second loss of this kind which these dear parents have been called upon to under-go, but by holding out faithfully a little while longer they shall again behold the angel faces of those darling ones gone one but a few days before. "Blessed be God who gave and who taketh away." The blessed Jesus sometimes takes up the lambs into his arms before the night comes, before any darkness is permitted to surround it. We all sympathize with these dear friends. The burial took place at Highland, Monday. Elder Haines preaching the sermon.
