Born in Iron City, Tennessee.

Married Sarah Elizabeth Kelly on October 16, 1889.

J.R. & Susan Blythe moved to Davis, I.T. in 1893 by covered wagon. They located at 201 South Third Street and lived there their entire lives.

Mr. Blythe bought a livery stable in Davis which he named "The Tennessee Livery". After managing the stable for several years, he became engaged in farming.

Mr. & Mrs. Blythe were charter members of the Davis Presbyterian Church.

Their new home being nearly completed, J. R. Blythe and family began moving into it today. Mr. Blythe tore down his two story house and built a pretty bungalow in its place. It is fashioned along modern and tasty lines and is a very neat appearing dwelling. While it was being built the Blythe family has occupied the Mrs. Maxey place just across the street.
