BLECKLEY COUNTY-Thurman E. Abney,79, of Route 1 died Wednesday at his residence.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. today in Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Bleckley County. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Buford Raffield will officiate.
A Dodge County native, Mr. Abney lived in Bleckley County most of his life. He was a farmer and the owner and operator of T.E. Abney Milling Co. in Bleckley County for 38 years.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie R. Abney of Bleckley County; two daughters, JoAnn Peche and Carol Fordham, both of Bleckley County; a son, Jack Abney of Bleckley County; a sister, Sarah White of Montrose; two brothers, Holmes Abney and Drew Abney, both of Bleckley County; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. today.
