SERVICES FOR MRS. ACUNCIUS HERE TODAY
Mrs. Prudie Scott Acuncius, 87, died early Tuesday morning, Sep 20, 1966, in Roanoke Manor nursing home at Roanoke. She had been a resident of the home the past several years.
A daughter of George and Melvina Andrews Scott, Mrs. Acuncius was born in Granville Feb. 28, 1879. She was married July 28, 1904, to Walter D. Acuncius, a local painter and decorator for many years. After his death and when she left the family home here, she resided with her daughter, Mrs. Marion Morine at Hennepin.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ and of the Halcyon society of the local church.
Surviving are four sons and two daughters, Wesley of Mark, Orville, Arthur and Walter, Granville; Mrs. Morine (Nellie) and Miss Mabel of Eldin; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, who died in 1944, she was preceded in death by a son, Harold, and a daughter, Mrs. William (Marie) Zimmerman of Barrington. Two brothers also preceded her in death, Harvey Scott of Sawyer, Mich. and Orville Scott of Granville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Helmer-Shields Funeral Home, with the Rev. John H. Kemp. pastor of the United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in the Granville cemetery.
Visitation was at the funeral home yesterday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M.
