Walter Acuncius, Granville, Dies

GRANVILLE-- Walter Acuncius, 69, retired Granville painting contractor, died Saturday at 2 p.m. in St, Margaret's hospital, Spring Valley, where he had been a patient since Friday night. He had been disabled the past five years.

A native of Bunker Hill, he was born Jan. 13, 1875, a son of Daniel and Martha Johnson Acuncius. He was educated in the Bunker Hill public schools. As a young man he was a telephone lineman and was a painting contractor until his retirement five years ago.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Dysart funeral chapel with the Rev. Glade L. McClish, pastor of the Granville Congregational church, officiating. Burial was in Granville cemetery.

He was married July 28, 1904, to Miss Prudy Scott of Granville with Rev. Hutchinson officiating. Preceding him in death were a son, Harold, 26, in 1933; a daughter, Marie, 20, in 1929; a brother, Terry, and a sister, Minnie.

Surviving are his widow and six children, Mrs. Nell Kemp and Arthur at home, Wesley of Mark, Mabel of Elgin, Sgt. Orville in India and Pfc. Walter at Camp Robinson, Ark.; three brothers, Frank, Herbert and William, of Bunker Hill

His son, Walter, and the three brothers of Bunker Hill arrived Sunday and Miss Mabel came from Elgin Saturday night.
