Mrs. Mary Abbitt Anderson, died,15 August 1904 at Friday at her residence in Indianapolis, aged eighty four years and five months. She had been ill for about eight weeks. Death was due to senile gangrene.
Mary was born in 1821 in Virginia, the daughter of Eli & Martha Abbitt, married William Alexander Anderson, 1841 in Decatur County, Indiana.
She leaves the following children, Mrs. Martha Rhoner, Mrs. Mary Perkins, Mrs. America McDonald, Eli, George, William, James and Jacob Anderson. She also has two sisters, Mrs. Harriet Smith and Mrs. Rebecca McKenzie.
She was a member of the First Christian Church at Brown's Wonder. The remains were brought to Whitestown on the 10:00 o'clock inter-urban car, Sunday morning and taken to Mts. Run, where the funeral and interment occurred.
