DIED MONDAY AT
HOME; BURIED WED.

John Amos Clayton, well known farmer died at his home near the Liberty church Monday. He was a native of Indiana where he was born October 1, 1850. At the time of his death he was 79 years, 6 months and 13 days of age.
On the 2nd day of February, 1887 he was united in marriage with Miss Margaret Emmaline Cole. To this union ten children were born, 7 sons and 3 daughters. Two infant sons preceded him in death. He is survived by
his wife and the following named Children: Herbert R. and Orval E.both in Pekin, I11.; William C Allenville,Esther E. Abbott of Sullivan, Eva E. Abbott of Kirksville,
Bessie I. Jones of Riverton, Lacy L. and Jessie S. at home.
There also survive 17 grandchildren and three brothers—Lander L. and Albert E. of Arthur and William M. of Oklahoma.
Funeral services Wednesday afternoon at the home
were in charge of Rev. Ridgeway of AllenVille. Interment was in the Hagerman cemetery. Pall bearers were:Louie Conwell, Ed Bayne, Guy Pifer, James Lehman, Albert Underwood and Roy Martin.
