Robert G. Carpenter, 73, of Armstrong, died at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at Provena in Danville.
He was born in Hoopeston, Il. to James and Wilka Karrick Carpenter. He married Joan Curtis on June 15, 1954, in Danville. She survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Teresa (Thomas) Adwell of Rossville; son, Jim (Donna) Carpenter of Rossville; grandchildren, Jennifer Danner, Tabitha Powell and Nicholas Applegate; great-grandchildren, Skylar and Olivia Danner, and Angel Applegate and a sister, Beverly Abbott of Danville.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dixie Lee, and three sisters.
