Obituary of Mrs. Maudie Ambrosek
Maudie Elouise Crosby, born August 4, 1883 at Red Cloud, Nebraska to Richard M. and Kate (Rothgeb) Crosby. She departed this life April 19, 1965 at the home of her son. she had reached the age of 81 years, eight months and 15 days.
At the age of three she accompanied her parents to Hayes County where she resided on the family farm until she was united in marriage to Andrew Ambrosek on August 27, 1906 at Hayes Center, Nebraska.
For 11 years the family lived on a farm in Hayes County then moved to Chase County where she remained until 1938, leaving Chase County to accompany her son to his farm in Dundy County where she lived in a separate residence.
Until ill health curtailed her activies she always offered a helping hand to friends, neighbors and family. At an early age she was baptized into the Methodist Church and through her life maintained a deep abbidding faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her father, mother, four brothers, Joseph of Hayes Center, Nebraska, George of Portland, Oregon, Will of Palo Alto California, Raymond of Caldwell, Idaho. Two sisters, Edith Stephenson of Hamlet, Nebrask, Catherine Crosby, who died in infancy.
She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Gerald, his wife, Eva, four grandsons, one granddaughter, one granddaughter-in-law and two great granddaughters besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Friday, April 23, at the Methodist Church in Imperial. The pastor, Rev. Otto A. Quaife, officiating. Music was provided by --ster Adams, and Mrs. Stanley Schroeder, with Mrs. Williad --uze at the organ. Escorts were Roger Anderson, Elmer Bischoff, Wilbur Teply, Jake Teply, Bob --own and Richard Crounce. Interment was in the Elmer Cemetery northeast of Wauneta. The --rs and Reynolds Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
