Lexington; PICKLESIMER Laura Jane Cooper, 82, widow of Dewey C. Picklesimer and beloved mother and grandmother, died peacefully Wed, Dec 17, 2008 at Central Baptist Hospital with her family surrounding her. Born Feb 25, 1926 in Kinniconick, KY, Lewis County, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Annie Fralie Cooper. During World War II, she worked on planes at Wright-Patterson Air-Force Base in Dayton, OH before becoming a homemaker and mother. She was a member of Bryan Station Baptist Church. Survivors include her sister, Evalina Hutchison of Xenia, OH; her children, Anita Picklesimer Rawls, Cary, NC, Rita Picklesimer, Lexington, Gordon Dean Picklesimer, Anchorage, AK and Angela Jane (Michael) Casini, Blue Springs, MO; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Norman Eugene Picklesimer, Harrodsburg, KY; three sisters, Mrs. Roy (Regina) Abbott of Vanceburg, KY, Mrs. Ernest (Birdie) Cook of North Ridgeville, OH; and a brother, Charles Cooper of Springfield, OH. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Al Gormley and are set for 3:30pm Sat, Dec 20, 2008 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Main Street following visitation from 12-3pm. Burial will be Mon, 10am, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery on Nicholasville Road.
