Mass, Wednesday for Marie Logsdon
(September 26, 1886 - December 29, 1975)

Mass for Marie Ann Logsdon who died Monday morning was held this Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. in St. Leo's Catholic Church with Father Bartholomew Svete officiating. Rosary was held at Peet Mortuary Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Organist was Pat Glenn. Casket bearers were four grandsons of Mrs. Logsdon, Brett West, Bill Schieck, Tom Schieck and Gary West, and friends, James Meng and Hank Montgomery. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Marie Ann Abeln was born at Cincinnati, Ohio, Sept. 26, 1886. She was the second of ten children born to John and Josephine Abeln. Early in her childhood the family moved to Delores, Colo., where she spent her youth and received her schooling. She married Alonzo Logsdon, Sept. 28, 1909, at Delores, Colo. They were the parents of four children.

Mrs. Logsdon was a long time resident of Laramie where she reared her family. She followed her profession as a cook for many years at various cafes in Laramie and at the Phi Delta Theta fraternity house. "Affectionately known as Mom to all who surrounded her, she was well known for her warmth and kindness to strangers as well as close friends." noted the family. On retirement she resided in her children's homes until 1967 when she became a resident of Michael Manor Nursing Home in Douglas.

Mrs. Logsdon is survived by her four children, Carroll A. Logsdon of Carlsbad, Calif., Chester A. Logsdon, Laramie, Maxine F. Schieck, Casper, and Rosemond M. West, Lusk; one sister, one brother, ten grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, four sisters, and one grandchild.
