Mrs. Stillwell Dead.
Mrs. Della Stillwell, of 207 West Chestnut avenue, who has been a resident of Arkansas City for a good many years died this morning at 5 o'clock at the Arkansas City hospital. The cause of her death is given by the attending physician as heart failure, to which disease she was subject. Mrs. Stillwell had been in poor health for some months past and last Thursday she underwent an operation for appendicitis. She rallied nicely from the effects of the operation and was getting along as well as could be expected. On Saturday she was not so well on account of heart trouble, but again she was thought to be improving. This morning shortly before 5 o'clock the patient was found to be in a serious condition, and before the attending physician reached the hospital she had passed away.
Mrs. Stillwell was the widow of C.A. Stillwell, he having died in California some years ago. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.A. Abbott and the mother still survives her. She also leaves a son, Ralph, seventeen years of age, who is now in one of the southern states traveling as advance agent for a show company. Mrs. Stillwell was well and favorably known in Arkansas City. She had many warm friends here, who will regret to learn of her sudden death. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church of this city and was an active church worker.
The deceased was 48 years of age at the time of her death. The funeral services will not be held until the son Ralph, arrives in the city, or is heard from. Funeral annoucement will be made later.
