The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2009, at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church with Reverend Lanell Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Nance was born January 22, 1931, in Rockingham County, to the late Robert Moir Lawson and Mabel Gann Lawson. She was a faithful member of Mr. Hermon United Methodist Church and retired from Unifi, Inc.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Nance; brother, Gurney Lawson; sister, Allie Aaron; niece, Zoe Lawson McBeth and nephew, Darrell Joyce.
Survivors include sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Owen Joyce of Madison; five nieces, Julia Watson, Shelia L. McCollum, Gean L. Barnes, Karen L. Watson, and Leslie L. Wall; and a much-loved stepson, Keith Nance, wife Joyce and son, Jordan.
