James owned and operated James E. Adair Excavating, and was a member of Briensburg Masonic Lodge #401 F & AM.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Faith of Calvert City, KY; his step-mother, Opal Irene Adair of Calvert City, KY; four sons, Richard Lee Adair of Memphis, TN, Allen Raye Adair and Roy Edward Adair both of Benton, KY, and James Allen Adair of Calvert City, KY; two daughters, Kathy Lorene Baker of Palma, KY and Kandy Lynn Smith of Benton, KY; three brothers, Robert Stroud of Wingo, KY, Benny Adair and Wayne Peck both of Calvert City, KY; two sisters, Betty McCall of Maryville, TN and Sandra Barrett of Calvert City, KY; fourteen grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Lee Bruns Adair; and two brothers, Weldon "Doodie" Peck and Thomas Adair; and one grandson, Casey Baker. His parents were Sandy Thomas Adair and Annie Ruth Miller Mount.
