JOSEPH HENRY A'BAIR

Joseph Henry, second son of Peter and Matilda A'bair began his earthly career in Iroquois County, Ill., October 20, 1861. With his parents he moved to Indiana in 1872, settling on the farm now owned by Ed. Wooldridge west of Poplar Grove. Here amid the trials, struggles and enjoyments of pioneer life he grew to maturity.

On the 13th day of September, 1882 he was united in marriage with Sophia Durst. Seven children blessed this union all of whom are living. Lauretta Baker of Harris Station, Ind., Eva Bellman of Bremen, Joseph of Niles, Michigan, Lloyd of Twin Lakes, Oscar and Clarence of Plymouth and Russell of South Bend.

Mr. A'bair spent most of his life in Marshall County, living for the past number of years on his farm in Green Township.

During the administration of Rev. George Carnes, as pastor of Santa Ana, brother A'bair knelt at the altar, accepted Jesus as his own personal Savior and remained a member of that church until the Lord called him to the Church Triumphant. He met with an accident on Tuesday and departed this life Thursday, September 14, 1922 aged 60 years, 10 months and 24 days.

Mr. A'bair was a good neighbor, always kind and obliging to all. He was a loving husband and father and devoted much to his family.

Beside his devoted companion and children he leaves to bear his loss, three brothers, John of Muskegon, Michigan, Andy of Plymouth and Charlie of Harvey, Ill. Two sisters, Maggie Warner of Mo. and Lizzie Barnhisel of Wyoming and twenty grandchildren.

A great host of friends unite in sharing this loss which came into the home and community suddenly.

Let us console ourselves in the thought that he has received an abundance reward. Funeral services were held at Poplar Grove Sunday at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. A.L. Vermillion.
